The New England Patriots justifiably received acclaim for choosing Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the NFL Draft.
Although he wasn’t the sole running back they selected during draft weekend, they did end up with another one.
The largest undrafted free agency deal offered by the Pats was also extended to a running back, Lan Larison from UC-Davis.
According to
The Athletic’s Chad Graff
It was guaranteed that Larison would receive $175K to join New England.
Graff proceeded to analyze how Larison could share many similarities with the previous beloved New England Patriots fan favorite, Rex Burkhead.

Securing a player of similar caliber to Burkhead as an undrafted free agent would be considered a significant win.
Burkhead played for four years with the New England team, accumulating over 1,000 rushing yards, making 96 receptions, and crossing the goal line 18 times overall.
Henderson could be the running back of tomorrow, yet there’s always room for one more player behind center. Perhaps, just perhaps, that additional contender might turn out to be Larison.
