Even though Anna Kendrick, who appeared in the initial “Accountant” movie, isn’t part of the follow-up, series director Gavin O’Connor mentions that she’s willing to assist in wrapping up the trilogy.
Teaming up with actor Ben Affleck and screenplay writer Bill Dubuque, O’Connor shared his thoughts.

Kendrick is prepared to come back as Christian Wolff’s romantic lead, Dana Cummings, for a possible third movie. Affleck mentioned that he is also up for a trilogy sequel and is merely “waiting for another fantastic screenplay.”
Regarding Kendrick’s participation, O’Connor mentioned that he and Dubuque have engaged in initial discussions. Personally, I’m steering clear of making another puzzle film since we’ve already tackled this genre two times before. A topic we’ve explored is potentially bringing Anna Kendrick back into the fold. Perhaps Christian will finally receive the affection he truly merits.
“We’re hoping she still likes us,” Affleck interjected. O’Connor then added, “Actually, Ben, she and I have been texting. She said she’s a hundred percent in if we want.”

, O’Connor said he has “always wanted””The Accountant” franchise to be a three-film series, and added that Affleck’s Christian needs that sort of runway to complete his arc.
“When Bill and I began discussing the sequel, it was crucial that we avoided a typical romance,” O’Connor stated. “Instead, we aimed for a brotherly bond narrative similar to ‘48 Hours’ or ‘Midnight Run.’ For the third film, however, our initial idea revolves around Christian’s journey towards finding love and meaningful connections; though specifics remain unclear at this stage.”
