To foster early childhood growth and bolster communal bonds, DBKL, Sentul Raya Sdn Bhd, Toy Libraries Malaysia, and YTL Foundation have joined forces to ink an Agreement of Action (AOA). This initiative aims to set up a community toy library within the UTC Sentul area in Kuala Lumpur.
The agreement signed at Menara DBKL represents a partnership aimed at developing an energetic and inclusive environment where kids from various origins can come together to play, learn, and develop.
The Sentul Toy Library being held at UTC Sentul will collaborate with Toy Libraries Malaysia and intends to promote the creation of environmentally friendly and family-oriented communities.
As the municipal body, DBKL backs this initiative as part of its efforts to engage with the community and enhance public well-being.
Toy Libraries Malaysia leverages its knowledge in play-based education, with Sentul Raya and YTL Foundation offering financial backing and assistance to guarantee that the toy library evolves into a cherished and frequently visited asset for local families.
The Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, stated that play serves as a strong basis for education and emphasized that each child should have the chance to develop, explore, and envision their world through playful experiences.
This collaboration signifies a crucial move toward fostering a more compassionate and inclusive urban environment for our children.
I am looking forward to the official launch in the coming quarter and I hope additional partners and communities will join us to assist in bringing more toy libraries to life throughout Kuala Lumpur.
The president of Toy Libraries Malaysia, Datin Wong Poai Hong, stated that play is an essential right for all children.
Through this toy library, we’re developing a secure and engaging space that fosters curiosity, imagination, and social engagement.
Datuk Kathleen Chew, the programme director at YTL Foundation, stated, “We trust in the impact of playful activities to enhance children’s experiences and strengthen communal bonds.”
This partnership underscores our joint dedication to guaranteeing that each child, irrespective of their origin, enjoys accessible and significant educational moments.
The toy library is slated to welcome visitors from the public in the coming quarter and will showcase an extensive collection of educational toys, books, and innovative learning materials designed for kids below 12 years old.
The area will similarly accommodate frequent play sessions, parent workshops, and storytelling events.
This effort supports comprehensive child growth initiatives and showcases the power of collaborations among government bodies, businesses, and nonprofit organizations in fostering robust and compassionate community environments.
