The Controversial Moment Between Peter Andre and Harvey Price

A recent resurfaced video has sparked a wave of backlash against Peter Andre, who is accused of mocking his stepson, Harvey Price, in an old clip. The incident has brought renewed attention to the complicated relationship between the former couple and their children.

Peter Andre, known for his hit “The Mysterious Girl,” was married to Katie Price from 2005 to 2009. During this time, he became a stepfather to her eldest son, Harvey, whose biological father, footballer Dwight Yorke, has no relationship with him. Now 23, Harvey is autistic and suffers from Septo-optic dysplasia, which affects his vision. He also has Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition that leads to learning difficulties and behavioral challenges.

Harvey has been a central figure in Katie’s social media content and reality shows during the late 2000s. However, as the former couple’s feud resurfaces, fans are revisiting old footage, including a clip that appears to show Peter making fun of Harvey when he was a child.

In the video, Peter encourages young Harvey to imitate Matt Lucas’s character Andy from “Little Britain.” He tells Harvey to say, “I want that one!” which was Andy’s catchphrase. As Harvey groans in his wheelchair, Peter bursts into laughter. He then comments, “You look a bit Matt Lucasey, eh?” before Katie intervenes, defending her son by saying, “No, he doesn’t. He’s my Harvey.” Peter retorts, “He does a bit, just like that.”

Fans have reacted strongly to the clip, with many calling Peter’s behavior “appalling” and questioning why he hasn’t been “cancelled years ago.” Some users expressed disappointment, stating that they had previously respected Peter but now see him in a different light. Others criticized the act of making a vulnerable child repeat a catchphrase for entertainment, labeling it cruel and heartless.

While some fans defended Peter, arguing that he loved Harvey like his own, others found the situation unacceptable. One user wrote, “Why are people going at him for it? It’s a joke.” However, the majority of comments reflected strong disapproval of Peter’s actions.

Harvey, who used to rely on a wheelchair daily, now only uses it occasionally. His challenges have been highlighted in the documentary “Harvey and Me,” where Katie also spoke about the racist online abuse he has endured over the years. She even campaigned for a new law called “Harvey’s Law” to criminalize trolling, which gained support from several MPs.

In 2021, Katie decided to move Harvey into specialized housing as he pursued college and developed new skills. However, in July this year, she shared on her podcast that Harvey would be returning home for good and moving into independent living. This decision came after she had to remove him from a £350,000-per-year school due to funding issues.

Harvey is set to start taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro and will attend a specialized facility in Southampton that supports individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome, a condition affecting 1 in every 15,000 people.

Meanwhile, Katie and Peter continue to clash publicly. Peter recently made a bombshell statement on Instagram, claiming that in 2019, family courts issued a legally binding order for Princess and Junior to live with him and his wife, Emily Andre. He has vowed to expose more of Katie’s “lies” in the coming months.

Katie’s team responded by stating that she no longer feels the need to engage in tit-for-tat comments and will not be “gaslighted and bullied as she once was.” Reactions from Peter Andre’s representatives are still pending.
