Whether you’re binge-watching every episode or have already devoured Harlan Coben’s latest thriller, Run Away, it’s likely you’ll recognize more than a few faces in the hit Netflix series. As is common with Coben’s adaptations, the cast features a mix of British actors and comedians who may not immediately come to mind when thinking of a thriller. Here’s a look at some of the familiar faces you might spot in the show and where you might have seen them before.

James Nesbitt – A Veteran on Our Screens

James Nesbitt has been a staple on our screens for decades, beginning with his breakout role as womanizer Adam Williams in Cold Feet almost 30 years ago. He has since built a career playing complex characters such as undercover cop Tommy Murphy in Murphy’s Law, DCI Tom Brannick in Bloodlands, and Harry Clayton in Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.

Nesbitt also made an impression on the big screen as Bofur in The Hobbit trilogy. Other film credits include Waking Ned, Millions, Bloody Sunday, and Match Point. He has also appeared in several Harlan Coben adaptations, including Missing You and Stay Close.

Ruth Jones – From Gavin & Stacey to Stardom

Tracy-Ann Oberman has had a long and varied career, from her role as Auntie Val in Friday Night Dinner to her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. She is also well-known for her role as Chrissie Watts in EastEnders.

Ellie Henry is best known for her role as Freya Calder in Hollyoaks. She played the daughter of headteacher Carter Shepherd between 2022 and 2024.
