I believe I’ve moved beyond [the role] now, and I lack the energy,” she explained regarding her current absence. Seyfried is also well-known for being harsh on her own performances. “I wasn’t even present duringLes MisI was just recalling myself each time,” she remembered about the experience. “I regret not being fully present during that movie. I regret how judgmental I was… Now, as a mother, I feel like I have to give it my all in everything I do, or else it’s not worth it.
Her method of singing in her latest movieThe Will of Ann Leewas entirely unlike anything she had previously attempted. “I didn’t collaborate with my voice coach for this,” she revealed. “The singing was, for me, a reflection of Ann Lee’s belief. It wasn’t about the quality. It was about how I sounded in that moment, based on what I was feeling.”

The event resulted in a revelation, during which she discovered how to “engage with her voice in a new way.”
