Anthony Hopkins, the 88-year-old Oscar-winning actor best known for his iconic role in The Silence of the Lambs, has made a significant real estate move. The property was reportedly acquired for $13 million, marking a new chapter in the actor’s life.
The home, spanning 6,389 square feet, features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, an attached two-car garage, and a temperature-controlled wine room. It was originally listed for $13.4 million in late 2025 through Compass, with listing agent Josh Flagg describing it as a unique blend of East Coast traditional style and modern luxury.
"This property is particularly special as it was once home to Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell," Flagg said at the time. "The current owners completely reimagined it into an authentic East Coast traditional, featuring elegant details throughout — including a temperature-controlled wine tasting room and a putting green in the backyard."

Hawn and Russell were the original occupants of the home, purchasing it in 2004 before selling it to real estate developers Bob and Margie Champion in 2017 for $6.9 million. The property has since been renovated and updated, offering a range of luxurious amenities.

He wrote, "As we struggle to heal from the devastation of these fires, it’s important we remember that the only thing we take with us is the love we give." He added the broken heart and prayer emojis to emphasize his sentiment.
A Celebration of Sobriety and Life
In addition to his real estate endeavors, Hopkins recently celebrated 50 years of sobriety on December 2025. His journey to recovery began after a near-death experience in 1975, which led him to seek help. In his memoir, We Did Ok, Kid, he described a harrowing incident where he drove all night from Arizona to Beverly Hills without remembering the trip.
"I could have taken out a whole family," he wrote, reflecting on the incident. "So I stopped. Without bragging, I got help and 50 years ago today was the end. Not being a killjoy, I just wish you well."
On Instagram, he shared a heartfelt message about his milestone: "Choose life instead of the opposite. Life life life and more life. I’m also going to be 88 in two days. So maybe I did something right, I don’t know. Happy New Year and happy happy life!"
