Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lawrence Discuss Potential Involvement in Miss Piggy Movie

Ariana Grande has expressed openness to joining the upcoming Miss Piggy movie, which is being developed by Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone. The project has generated a lot of excitement, especially as it involves one of the most iconic characters from The Muppets.

During the pre-show for the 2026 Golden Globes on ET: Live on the Golden Globes Carpet, Grande was asked about her potential involvement in the film. She responded with humor, saying she was "open" to joining the project. However, she quickly clarified that she was joking and emphasized her admiration for The Muppets.

Later, ET co-host Kevin Frazier spoke with Lawrence about the film. He mentioned that Grande had not seemed overly excited about the idea. Lawrence joked that it was "your casting" and added that it was the first time Grande had heard about the project. When asked if the rumor about Grande’s involvement was true, Lawrence confirmed that it was a "Twitter rumor."

"I guess it was one of those Twitter rumors. They’re good at those," Lawrence said. "I mean, if she wants to be in the movie, I would love for her to be in the movie."

Lawrence then turned to the cameras and pleaded with Grande: "Please be in Miss Piggy."

The Miss Piggy movie was first announced in November 2025 when Lawrence revealed on the Las Culturistas podcast that she and Stone were producing the film. Cole Escola was also attached as a writer. Lawrence hinted that both she and Stone might star in the movie themselves.

"I think so," Lawrence said. "We have to… It’s f—– up [that we haven’t done a movie together]."

However, Emma Stone recently clarified that she will not be playing Miss Piggy in the film. In an interview with W Magazine published on January 6, Stone stated that the idea of her playing Miss Piggy was an insult to the character.

"First of all, that is the biggest insult to Miss Piggy I’ve ever heard, and I will not have her name dragged through the mud like that. Why would I play a literal star? She’s the greatest," Stone said. "No, of course I’m not playing Miss Piggy. And neither is Jen. We pale in comparison. Are you out of your mind? Miss Piggy is playing Miss Piggy. She would be storming out right now at the mere suggestion."

Despite this clarification, the film remains a highly anticipated project. It continues to attract attention from fans and celebrities alike, with Lawrence expressing hope that Grande will join the cast.

As the release date approaches, more details about the film are expected to emerge. Fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on the project and its potential stars.
