Bernlore Studiosis a post-production firm that focuses on the intersection of film and music. The owner enjoys working with documentaries and independent films, where his creative talents can shine.

There is a requirement for production companies to focus on smaller independent films,” said Luke Bern Carr, owner of Bernlore Studios. “This includes documentary features. It’s a part of the media environment that is expanding and succeeding, and individuals will keep sharing stories and creating films, and we aim to be part of that.

Bernlore Studios enhances another post-production facility located at Aspect Media Village known as Deadeye Productions. This is in addition to a movie theater and restaurant that are set to open soon, along with a 129-unit apartment complex scheduled to launch this summer.

“We have consistently been engaged in the initial stages of production, and handling post-production introduces an entirely new aspect of filmmaking to the state, enhancing the diversity of the economy and strengthening it as a comprehensive entertainment industry,” said Phillip Gesue, Developer at Aspect Media Village.

Luke mentioned he was very enthusiastic about joining the expanding creative businesses in the village, such as the 35,000 square foot Garson Studios, two technology companies, and an arts group. “What I’ve always appreciated about Santa Fe is that it’s a highly creative city, and this particular community is increasingly becoming a center for that creativity,” Bern Carr stated. “So we’re located in a creative hub within a creative city, and that’s exactly where I wanted to be. We handle a lot of documentary work and multimedia storytelling projects, and internally we manage production and post-production, as well as music and sound design under one creative roof.”

Luke mentioned that he once attended music classes in the same building that now houses his post-production studio, creating a true full circle experience. “It exposed me to certain elements of music,” Bern Carr said. “There have been incredible artists, musicians, poets, and writers who have come from this building. So when I saw a chance to move in here, there were already great vibes for me.”

Jesus mentioned that numerous creative companies are relocating, turning it into a central gathering place for the entertainment sector where all parties can gain from being in close proximity.

One thing I discovered about New Mexico when I first arrived in the state a few years ago is that there’s a wealth of amazing entertainment and individuals working in the film and media industry, but they weren’t connected,” Gesue said. “What Aspect Media Village offers is a central location where many people in the film and entertainment fields, as well as the arts community in Santa Fe, can come together. It serves as a space where they can build that kind of community.
