The country has extended the temporary stay permits for non-EU, EEA, and Swiss workers who work remotely for companies or clients outside Croatia up to one year.

According to the Croatian Ministry of Internal Affairs, temporary residence permits for digital nomad workers in this country are granted for up to 18 months. If approved for a shorter period, an extension can be applied for up to six months, no later than 60 days before the current stay expires. New applications can only be submitted six months after the previous stay (whether for remote work, family reunification, or partnership) has ended.

Digital nomad visa applications in Croatia can be submitted online. Some of the requirements that applicants must meet include having a valid passport for at least 3 months after the planned stay. Proof of remote work, such as a work contract or service agreement, and self-employed individuals must present a business certificate.

In addition, they must provide proof of accommodation and a monthly income of at least EUR 3,295 (approximately IDR 62 million). The applicant must have a valid private health insurance covering the entire stay in Croatia. No criminal record in the country of residence.

After being approved, you must register your Croatian address within three days if you are already in the country, or within a longer period if you are later. Visa applicants will collect the biometric identity card directly.
