A Nostalgic Connection to Neil Diamond
Demi Moore, the actress known for her role in “Landman,” recently shared a heartfelt memory about her ex-husband, Bruce Willis. During a Q&A session at a special screening of “Song Sung Blue” with Kate Hudson, Moore revealed a unique weekly tradition that she and Willis had during their marriage.

The film “Song Sung Blue,” directed by Craig Brewer, follows the story of Mike “Lightning” (Hugh Jackman) and Claire “Thunder” (Hudson) Sardina, a real-life couple who performed in a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder. This connection to Neil Diamond’s music brought back memories for Moore.
“This is a little personal thing, but Bruce always had every week, Neil Diamond Day,” Moore told Hudson. “Watching the movie just kept reminding me of when he would blast Neil Diamond, and I’d say, ‘What’s going on?’ And he said, ‘No, it’s Neil Diamond Day.'”

Moore explained that Willis would celebrate Neil Diamond Day by playing the singer’s music throughout the day. She recalled how this tradition continued for years, highlighting the actor’s deep admiration for the musician.
“He kept on doing that for years,” she continued. “He was a huge Neil fan. And so am I!”
Moore and Willis were married from 1987 until 2000, during which they welcomed three daughters—Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout. Despite their divorce, the couple has maintained a strong family bond, especially as Willis battles frontotemporal dementia.

Willis remarried in 2009 to model Emma Heming Willis, while Moore married actor Ashton Kutcher from 2005 until 2013. However, Moore has embraced her single life in recent years.
In an interview with PEOPLE last April, Moore expressed gratitude for maintaining their family unit despite their romantic challenges.
“That regardless of what the outside relationship has been, we have maintained being a family in various forms,” Moore said. “The foundation of making our children our priority has never wavered.”
Last March, Moore celebrated Willis’s 70th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing family photos and a message of love.
“Happy birthday, BW!” Moore captioned her post. “We love you.”
