Former “Saturday Night Live” actor Bowen Yang agreed with his podcast host Matt Rogers that it would be a “waste” of funds tosupport Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, and her Senate race.
On the pair’s “Las Culturistaspodcast Wednesday, Rogers started a 60-second segment where he would “rant, rail, rave” and “hopefully change hearts and minds” regarding cultural issues. In his minute, he criticized Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., which prompted him to point out what he considered self-centered politicians, including Crockett.

“Don’t do it. Please don’t. You’ll end up wasting your money. Take my word for it, I sent a lot of money to Sara Gideon in Maine. Just don’t do it. Don’t squander your money. Don’t do it,” Rogers said.

“It’s challenging enough to obtain,” Yang stated.
Rogers explained that he had no intention of criticizing Crockett, but mentioned that she was too “clearly defined” as a politician to succeed in a state or national election.
She won’t be winning a Senate seat in Texas, you all,” Rogers said. “Like, if Beto O’Rourke couldn’t pull it off, Jasmine Crockett won’t either.

During the podcast, the two also talked about their previous backing ofHillary Clintonduring the 2016 presidential election, which Yang expressed regret about.
“This is another aspect of the early days of ‘Las Culturistas’ that I regret, being a Hillary supporter,” Yang said.
“I don’t feel sorry about it because I believe we were putting in a lot of effort to simply come out victorious,” Rogers stated.
“I’m aware. However, I feel quite foolish,” Yang remarked.

Rogers also voiced frustration toward Newsom, stating that the California governor has little possibility of securing a presidential election.
