Celebrities and Their Favorite Eateries in Fort Worth During the Stock Show and Rodeo
As the 129th annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo kicks off, visitors can expect to spot a few familiar faces around town. The event, which runs from January 16 to February 7 at Dickies Arena and Will Rogers Memorial Center, attracts not only locals but also international guests. Among them are several Hollywood stars who have made Fort Worth their temporary home over the years.
This trend has grown significantly since Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of the hit series "Landman," moved much of his production work to the city. As a result, Fort Worth has become a hotspot for celebrities, especially during the rodeo season. While it’s impossible to guarantee who you might see, there are several restaurants and bars that have become favorites among these stars.
“Landman” Cast Favorites
“Landman” has been filming in and around Fort Worth during the spring and summer months, with many cast members frequenting local spots. Billy Bob Thornton, the show’s lead, is a regular at Joe T. Garcia’s (2201 N. Commerce St.), a historic Mexican restaurant known for its margaritas and family-style dinners. Sam Elliott, another star of the show, was recently spotted there as well.
Don Artemio (3268 W. 7th St.) in the Cultural District is a favorite of Guy Burnet, who plays Charlie Newsom. He praises the restaurant’s Northeast Mexican cuisine and cozy ambiance. Meanwhile, 61 Osteria (500 W. 7th St.), an upscale Italian eatery downtown, has also gained favor with actors James Jordan and Paulina Chávez, who rave about the hand-rolled pasta.
Andy Garcia, another notable name, enjoys the European elegance of The Chumley House (3230 Camp Bowie Blvd.) and Paris 7th (3324 W. 7th St.). Both are just minutes from the Stock Show grounds.
For actress Michelle Randolph, Mesero (4955 Gage Ave.) and The Press Cafe (4801 Edwards Ranch Road) at The Shops at Clearfork are go-to spots. Christian Wallace, co-creator of “Landman,” prefers the smash burger at Gustos Burger Bar + More (1229 7th Ave.) in the Near Southside area.
Popular Bars in Fort Worth
When it comes to bars, Christian Wallace recommends Nickel City (212 S. Main St.) in the Near Southside, a classic dive bar with a loyal following. The Durty Crow (2801 Crockett St.) and The Down N’ Out (150 W. Rosedale St.) are also popular choices.
Another notable spot is Cattlemen’s Steak House (2458 N. Main St.), which has appeared in “Landman” season 2. Co-owned by Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser, it’s a must-visit for fans of the show.
Jon Hamm, while filming “Landman” season 1, enjoyed visiting local barbecue joints like Goldee’s Barbecue (4645 Dick Price Road), a Michelin-recognized spot. He also stopped by Curly’s Frozen Custard (4017 Camp Bowie Blvd.) for a sweet treat.
“Lioness” and Other Stars
After filming its second season in Fort Worth in 2024, “Lioness” returned for its third season in fall 2025. Michael Kelly, one of the show’s stars, was impressed by Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar (907 Foch St.), a no-reservations sushi spot with daily specials.
Genesis Rodriguez, another cast member, enjoys Fort Worth’s coffee culture and favors Cherry Coffee (1121 W. Magnolia Ave.) in the Near Southside.
Harrison Ford’s Favorite Spots
Harrison Ford, an 83-year-old actor, has been a regular in Fort Worth for years. He often visits the city to update his helicopter pilot training at Bell Helicopter. He also starred in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923,” which was filmed in the area.
Ford has dined at 61 Osteria in 2023 and Istanbul Grill (401 Throckmorton St.) the previous year. The latter offers Turkish-inspired dishes with an American twist. In 2018, he visited Thai Terrace (4220 W. Vickery Blvd.) and Grace (777 Main St.), where Thai Terrace serves up delicious curry and pad thai, and Grace is known for its steak and seafood.
