The 2026 Golden Globes: A Night of Laughter, Recognition, and Local Celebrations

The 2026 Golden Globes are in full swing, and the night kicked off with a memorable monologue from host Niki Glaser. Known for her sharp wit and previous roasting of Tom Brady, Glaser delivered a performance that had the audience laughing throughout. Hosting her second consecutive Golden Globe ceremony, she didn’t hold back, taking jabs at CBS News (referred to as “See BS News”) and even Leonardo DiCaprio.

After several hours of pre-show red carpet coverage, the crowd at the Beverly Hilton was ready for some entertainment. The show moved steadily, with winners being announced one by one.

Early Winners and Surprises

Among the early winners was Teyana Taylor, who took home the award for her supporting role in “One Battle After Another.” Another unexpected win came from Stellan Skarsgård, who claimed the supporting performance award for his role in “Sentimental Value.”

Jean Smart continued her winning streak, securing another award for her performance in “Hacks.” Noah Wyle also added to his accolades, winning Best Actor in a TV Drama for his role as Dr. Robby in “The Pitt” — the same award he won at the 2025 Emmys in September.

Burlington native Amy Poehler made local headlines when she won the first-ever Best Podcast award for her Ringer show “Good Hang with Amy Poehler.” In her speech, Poehler thanked Ringer founder Bill Simmons and let her parents know they could now “watch the Patriots” after her victory.
