The live-action adaptation over two decades later has left devoted followers of the original with several queries.

Recently addressed fans questioning why the alien doesn’t sport a dress for camouflage in the forthcoming remake, set to debut on May 23 at cinemas, following the one-eyed being’s gender-fluid getups in the cartoon adaptation.

“I’ve received messages from people asking, ‘Why isn’t Pleakley dressed in a dress?'” Campbell replied when addressing the remarks made.

However, their live-action versions seem to utilize some kind of gadgetry that allows them to adopt a human appearance.
