Refer to it as a MAGA civil war or a MAGA collapse, but theJeffrey Epstein case has split Donald Trump’s supporters like never before.
The The US President has faced continuous pressure The head of the US government has been experiencing intense criticism The leader of the United States has been subjected to relentless attacks The American president has come under constant scrutiny The executive in charge of the US has been facing ongoing challengesA memo dated 7 July from the FBI and his Department of Justice stated that following a “thorough investigation,” they had determined that the late child abuser did not possess an incriminating “client list” or engage in blackmailing notable individuals.
This happened after many years of the same individuals heading those agencies insisting that such a list existed: Attorney General Pam Bondi mentioned earlier this year that it was on her desk, prepared for release.
Cue outrage from his base. By Sunday, well-known pro-Trump figures and Fox News presenters cautioned during a gathering that the US President was in danger of losing backing.
Up until now, despite two impeachments, a criminal trial, constant scandals, and four years out of power, Trump supporters have remained loyal to him. However, Epstein appears to be different. The MAGA media machine is finding it challenging to deal with the situation, and the responses have been… emotional.

The infamous conspiracy theory advocate Alex Jones, who has done so for yearsrejected the authenticity of the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school shootingWhile promoting his own line of vitamin supplements, he broke down in tears over what he perceived as a major betrayal by Trump.
Jones, who has been a long-time supporter of Trump, became emotional while recording a video in his vehicle.
He stated: “I’m going to go throw up, actually… I mean, I’m physically going to vomit, probably right now. I just really want the Trump administration to succeed and save this country, and they’re doing so much good. And then for them to do something like this breaks my heart.”
As Jones stated: “Maga is tearing itself apart”— and he is correct.
Trump capitalized on the support of QAnon supporters and other individuals who believe in conspiracy theories to enter the White House on two occasions, but is now facing the consequences. The US President has essentially made the most damaging statement possible to a conspiracy theorist: that there is no conspiracy.

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, he stated that “selfish people” were attempting to undermine the administration “over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” whom he claimed was “someone no one cares about.” He has sincealleged that the Epstein documents were “fabricated by [Barack] Obama”, they were created by [Joe] Biden.
However, the MAGA world does care. A movement that has been closely aligned with the US President for so long is now completely disoriented and altering its stance on a daily basis.
The prominent right-wing figure Charlie Kirk initially opposed Trump but later changed his stance, joining other MAGA supporters after the US President’s requests for silence.

I’ve had enough discussing Epstein,” Kirk stated on Monday, implying the entire situation was a scheme orchestrated by Democrats. “I will place my trust in my friends within the administration, I will trust my friends in the government to take the necessary actions.
The following day, he reversed his stance after facing criticism from his supporters, stating that he had only meant to say he was “finished” discussing the pedophile – who committed suicide in 2019 while waiting for trial on that specific day, and his statements had been misinterpreted.
Fox News – the channel that has typically been Trump’s preferred one – initially diverged from the US President, as Jesse Watters, one of its most well-known presenters, stated on July 9 that the scandal “smells”.
“Where did the entire case go? Where did the documents go?” asked Watters, who in his evening program has referred to Epstein in over 100 episodes during the last six years. Watters had previously stated he was “taking the lead in revealing Jeffrey Epstein’s list of intermediaries, clients, and well-known associates,” in contrast to the traditional media.
However, this week, the TV channel has remained unusually quiet, with only limited references to the most significant drama in the Maga world in recent years.

In addition to Watters, other prime-time Fox hosts, Sean Hannity and Greg Gutfeld, completely overlooked the Epstein story during their Monday programs.
By 4pm on Tuesday, Fox referenced “Epstein” only four times compared to 42 mentions of “Biden,” as reported by the left-leaning media monitoring group Media Matters. On Monday, the ratio was eight references to “Epstein” versus 158 to “Biden.”
This prompted the competing TV network Newsmax to join in and ridicule Fox, with its host Rob Schmitt claiming the channel was “terrified” of offending the US President.
Fury, along with other emotions, remains strong and the far-right figure Theo Von has continued to provokeVice President JD Vanceposts on X questioning “what changed” regarding his earlier conspiratorial opinions on Epstein.
Radio personality Glenn Beck claimed that Bondi “should be dismissed,” while conservative podcast host Megyn Kelly stated that the story would not fade, and that the Attorney General should conduct a press briefing to address the matter.
Elon Musk, the former “First Buddy” and White House advisor, hasactively criticizing Trump on X, informing him this week: “He ought to simply publish the documents and highlight which section is the fraud.”
Trump is currently experiencing his own emotional breakdown, stating during a cabinet meeting last week that he couldn’t understand why people were still discussing Epstein. (Clue: he previously referred to Epstein as a “great guy” who enjoys younger women, frequently traveled on his plane, and was captured on camera with Epstein in 1992, causing him to laugh uncontrollably while indicating women.)

In his most recent letter, Trump referred to a “Jeffrey Epstein hoax” and labeled those who thought there was an Epstein “client list” as “weaklings” being deceived by Democratic “nonsense.”
In this chaotic world, Democrats are now at the forefront in demanding the release of the Epstein files. Indeed, the same Democrats who previously expressed outrage at being labeled as devil-worshipping child sex traffickers during the“Pizzagate” scandal.
In another indication of a world in disarray, far-right agitatorLaura Loomerhas become an unexpectedly reasonable voice and has cautioned Trump that the Epstein case could “devour” his administration. She has consistently advocated for the selection of a Special Counsel to examine the Epstein case.
This could be the most effective method for the US President to gain some additional time before Loomer’s predictions become reality.
