New Marantz Home Cinema Products: AV 30 Preamplifier and AMP 30 Power Amplifier

Marantz has introduced two new products to its home cinema lineup: the AV 30 Preamplifier and the AMP 30 Power Amplifier. These models are inspired by the design of the award-winning Marantz Cinema 30, featuring an "iconic porthole" screen and stylish side illumination. The remote controls for both models also include backlighting to ensure a seamless user experience in dimly lit environments.

AV 30 Preamplifier: Advanced Audio Processing

The AV 30 is an 11.4-channel preamplifier that utilizes "state-of-the-art processing" and "comprehensive features," according to Marantz. It is equipped with the latest and most powerful Analogue Devices SHARC dual-core DSP chipset, paired with 32-bit two-channel DACs. This combination allows the AV 30 to decode and process all forms of incoming audio, including Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X, and AURO-3D.

With support for 11.4 channels via the discrete HDAM SA-2 preamplifier stage (available through RCA or XLR connections), the AV 30 promises an immersive audio experience. The preamplifier also includes seven HDMI 2.1 inputs, which can support up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video.

In addition, the AV 30 is powered by the HEOS platform, offering access to a variety of music streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect for high-resolution audio, as well as AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth.

To tailor the sound to your space, the AV 30 comes with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 advanced room optimization. This feature automatically calibrates based on speaker size and distance using the included microphone.

AMP 30 Power Amplifier: Powerful and Versatile

The AMP 30 is described by Marantz as "powerful and versatile." It delivers six channels of amplification, rated at 200W per channel, making it suitable for multiple system configurations. The amplifier also offers the flexibility to reconfigure pairs of 200W amp channels into bridged-tied-load (BTL) outputs, providing up to three channels of 400W if needed. Additionally, users can choose to bi-amp up to three speakers.

While the AMP 30 only provides six channels of amplification, it can be paired with other models like the 12-channel AMP 20 or the 16-channel AMP 10 to fully utilize the AV 30’s 14 channels of processing.

Availability and Pricing

The AV 30 and AMP 30 will be available this month from select retailers. Each unit is priced at £3500 / $4000 (approximately AU$7105).
