From earning an Oscar jointly and appearing as background actors in “Field of Dreams” to becoming Hollywood’s closest companions,Matt Damon and Ben Affleckhave created a timeless friendship that will be remembered forever.

Reunited on screen for the first time since “Air,” the two friends play Miami police officers in a dangerous predicament in the Netflix action thriller “The RipAdditionally, it’s not solely about male camaraderie – Damon and Affleck clash in an engaging manner, making it worth adding to your list of films to watch. Also, don’t overlook Jack O’Connell, who plays a demonic cult leader in the horror sequel ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,’ and remember to stream some new series: the nostalgic spy show ‘Ponies’ and the ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff ‘A Knight of Seven Kingdoms.’

Moving on to the exciting part:

Watch Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in action-packed scenes from Netflix’s ‘The Rip’

Well, what do you think of them apples: Matt Damon and Ben Affleck clash, shout, and fight – occasionally against one another – in the action movie “The Rip” (streaming now on Netflix). They portray Miami detectives who visit a cartel storage house for a straightforward cash confiscation and uncover a large amount of money along with an ethical conflict. My friend Patrick Ryanexchanged words with the two friendsregarding their least appreciated movies. how they have consistently been each other’s “biggest supporters” and why they avoid reading about themselves. “It’s not helpful to see what people are saying,” Affleck mentions. Damon adds, “I don’t think I’ve checked a comments section since the first time I did.”

As for the film, “The Rip” indeed delivers on its promise. There is an enjoyable mystery, along with a lot of tough bravado and cold, intense glares. (Peepmy ★★★ review.) It is also among thenew wave of streaming films this week, including the dystopian thriller “The Running Man” and the horror sequel “Black Phone 2.”

Be unsettled by Jack O’Connell’s intense following in ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’

You haven’t truly experienced life until you’ve witnessed Ralph Fiennes delivering a passionate performance and singing Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast” in a horror film. “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple” (now showing in theaters) enhances last year’s “28 Years Later” with a compelling exploration of religion versus science – featuring numerous zombie-like entities infected with a rage virus. Fiennes portrays a compassionate doctor striving to assist others, while Jack O’Connell delivers an outrageously unsettling performance as a satanic cult leader.

O’Connell has emerged as Hollywood’s preferred antagonist recently, portraying the Irish vampire Remmick in “Sinners” and the track suit-wearing villain Sir Jimmy Crystal in “Bone Temple.” I spoke with the English actor aboutwhat causes each character to rise above the restand why these villains have reinforced how much “I absolutely adore” acting, he says. “I would be ruined if I wasn’t doing this. I’m not sure what else I’m capable of.”

Watch Peacock’s ‘Ponies’ and HBO’s ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’

“Game of Thrones” alumna Emilia Clarkeand “The White Lotus” Season 2 sensationHaley Lu Richardsonstar as two CIA widows who become highly skilled in espionage within the 1970s-based Peacock series “Ponies.” (Fun fact: It means “persons of no interest.”) Not only are there lots of antics and schemes – two of my absolute favorites – but TV critic Kelly Lawler mentions in her★★★ reviewthat “Ponies” is an “uncomplicated, laid-back yet still completely exciting, action show that you can’t wait to settle in and watch because it’s such a delightful experience.”

Kelly preferred this one much more than HBO’s “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” describing the “Game of Thrones” spinoff as “halfhearted and dull” and a “major mistake.” (Woof.) Set 90 years before “Thrones,” the show follows tall knight Dunk (Peter Claffey) and unusual bald young boy Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). Kelly writes in her★½ reviewthat it’s “a senseless attempt at expanding the franchise that fails to address any of the original appeal and doesn’t offer anything truly engaging or innovative.”

Even greater delights to explore!

  • The latest preview for “The Bride!” has been released! And Maggie Gyllenhaal clarifies that exclamation mark. (The one in the title, not mine. I’m just thrilled.)
  • “Accident Was Just a Part of It” director Jafar Panahifaces jail timeafter directing one of the top films from last year.
  • Kristen Stewart warm greetings from her spouseher first time directing “The Chronology of Water.”
  • Ashton Kutcher returns to acting in “The Beauty,”A fresh body horror television show that hints at “The Substance.”
  • And did you know Robert Pattinson played a hidden part Robert Pattinson was involved in a concealed capacity Robert Pattinson had an undisclosed role Robert Pattinson took on a secret position Robert Pattinson was part of a covert assignmentin Oscar hopeful “Marty Supreme”?
