Info– The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, which has just passed, has become a magnet for national automotive enthusiasts, and one of the most shining stars this year was the MG4 EV, which was the most tried in the test drive area.
This electric vehicle from Morris Garages (MG) is the center of attention at the MG booth, with a long queue of visitors wanting to experience the future of driving firsthand.
It continues to attract attention thanks to its modern design, advanced features, and high-performance claims with a competitive price.
Not only is it displayed, MG Indonesia also provides a test drive unit of the MG4 EV that can be directly tried by visitors in the test area.
There are five top units prepared for direct testing, including electric vehicles such as MG4 EV Max, MG4 EV, and MG ZS EV, as well as internal combustion engine models such as MG5 GT and MG ZS.
Visitor Enthusiasm in the Test Drive Area
According to on-site monitoring, the MG4 EV test drive area is crowded with visitors from various groups, ranging from car enthusiasts to potential consumers curious about the performance of electric vehicles.
“I’m really curious since I saw the design. It turns out the handling is comfortable, and the acceleration is also responsive,” said Andri, one of the visitors who just tried the MG4 EV.
MG Indonesia stated that the number of participants for the MG4 EV test drive has significantly increased compared to last year’s participation. Even on the first two days, the test drive slots were fully booked until the afternoon.
Futuristic Design and Reliable Performance
The MG4 EV features a dynamic and sharp exterior design, giving a sporty yet elegant impression.
The front is equipped with slim LED lights and a closed grille typical of EVs, while the rear features a fully illuminated tail light bar that emphasizes its futuristic character.
Built on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), the MG4 EV offers rear-wheel drive (RWD), a 50:50 weight distribution, and an enjoyable driving experience.
The variant displayed at GIIAS has a range of approximately 450 km (WLTP) and supports fast charging up to 135 kW, allowing charging from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes.
MG also reaffirmed its commitment to the Indonesian market through the expansion of its dealer network, as well as the provision of after-sales service and battery warranty up to 8 years or 160,000 km.
Community Building
MG Electric Vehicle Club (MGEVC) witnessed the launch of the latest models at the GIIAS 2025 event. These include the MG4 EV Max and the new color of the MG Cyberster, as well as enjoying an exclusive product exploration experience.
According to Jason Huang, MG understands that in the era of electrification, building trust is not enough through technology alone — but also through a strong and informative community.
“MG Electric Vehicle Club’s (MGEVC) presence at the MG booth during GIIAS 2025 is not just a regular visit, but part of a major strategy to build loyalty, education, and public credibility towards electric vehicles,” said Jason.
MG Becomes More Mature in the EV Segment
The presence of the MG4 EV at GIIAS 2025 shows that MG is no longer a “new player” in Indonesia’s EV ecosystem. They are increasingly serious about building a reputation as a brand offering electric vehicles with advanced technology yet affordable.
With the positive response from visitors and high enthusiasm for the test drive, the MG4 EV seems to be one of the most popular and sought-after electric cars this year.
