In a media statement, the Calgary police mentioned that the accident took place at 1:35 p.m. on the southbound section of the ring road close to 17th Avenue S.E.

The police indicate that about seven to ten automobiles were part of this accident involving a commercial vehicle transporting a water tank that detached from the truck. Other vehicles crashed as they attempted to steer clear of the fallen container.

“Traffic in the vicinity might be affected since only one lane is still accessible,” the police stated around 2 PM.
