Netflix this week (January 18-24, 2026) will introduce 10 new TV series and films to its streaming collection. Here are the three worth watching, according to my view. (All times in Eastern Time).

Skyscraper Live

Best Time to View: Friday, January 23, 8 p.m. ET

What Type of Performance: Live Event

Cast: Alex Honnold

Netflix will broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET on Friday a professional rock climber, Alex Honnold, ascending a 101-floor office tower in Taipei, Taiwan, without any ropes or safety nets. Not even a single one. This is the most significant gamble Netflix has taken since investing $200 million in the Marco Polo series. However, while the poorly received Polo only resulted in the deaths of fictional characters, this event could potentially lead to the death of a real person. As a result, I’m certain that millions of Netflix viewers will tune in out of a strong sense of morbid curiosity. (And I’ll be one of them. And I bet you will be too.)

Monday Night Raw: 2026

When to View: Monday, January 19, 3 p.m.

What Type of Show: Sports Entertainment

Who’s Featured: CM Punk, Finn Balor

Netflix is marking its first anniversary of exclusively airing the weekly WWE “wrasslin” matches this month with a new episode on Monday: CM Punk will defend his heavyweight title against Finn Balor. Additionally, Becky Lynch will protect her women’s intercontinental title against Maxxine Dupri. While the results might be more predictable than those from Skyscraper Live, the excitement will remain just as thrilling.

Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart

When to View: Wednesday, January 21

What Type of Program: Documentary

Cast: Elizabeth Smart

In 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart was taken from her home in Utah, leading to a large-scale search and extensive media attention. The girl, who was kept by a member of a religious group, remained missing for nine months before being discovered. This Netflix original documentary features Smart sharing her terrifying experience and talking about her ongoing efforts to support victims of abductions.
