OGA 2025: A Hub for Innovation and Collaboration in Southeast Asia’s Energy Sector

As the energy landscape continues to evolve, Oil & Gas Asia (OGA) is set to return for its 21st edition, promising an even more impactful event. Following a record-breaking year last year, which saw a 29% increase in attendees, OGA will take place from September 2 to 4 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This year’s show is expected to be even more dynamic, with a sold-out business floor that brings together global industry professionals.

OGA remains the premier platform for oil, gas, energy, and petrochemicals in Southeast Asia. It serves as a vital meeting point for influential leaders, innovators, and stakeholders who come together to exchange ideas, form strategic partnerships, and explore new opportunities. The event plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the region’s energy sector by providing critical market insights and showcasing cutting-edge technologies.

Organized by Informa Markets Malaysia, OGA 2025 will feature 2,000 local and international brands across seven halls, covering a total area of 20,000 square meters. The theme for this year, “Powering Progress, Shaping Tomorrow,” reflects the event’s commitment to driving sustainable growth and innovation within the energy ecosystem.

With Malaysia assuming the Chair of ASEAN this year, the event aligns with a growing momentum to accelerate the region’s energy transition. Key initiatives on the agenda include advancing the ASEAN Power Grid, expanding renewable energy adoption, and implementing a regional energy cooperation action plan for the next five years. These efforts are part of a broader push to meet the increasing global energy demand, with Southeast Asia projected to contribute 25% of the world’s energy growth. The offshore gas market alone is expected to reach US$100 billion, driven by significant investments of US$30 billion from 2024 to 2025, led by Malaysia and Indonesia.

OGA 2025 will offer a diverse range of activities, including eight international pavilions, the SPEAK OGA knowledge exchange platform, the newly launched OGA Event Ambassadors initiative, and a series of high-impact partner programmes. These initiatives aim to bring together a wide spectrum of participants, from policymakers and industry leaders to SMEs, innovators, and young talent.

Notable sponsors and exhibitors include EPIC Berhad, Steel Hawk Berhad, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), Ingersoll Rand, Deep Manufacturing, Zecchin, Airscope Industries, Honeywell International, Ebara Elliot Energy, Sedia Teguh, Hidrokinetik Group, Tuah Energy, Helms Geomarine, Rembe, and SJP Sealing Technology. Additionally, the MOGSC Pavilion, organized by the Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC), will showcase local technology and innovation capabilities, fostering international collaborations.

The OGA Event Ambassadors will play a key role in leveraging the platform to demonstrate industry leadership. These ambassadors, drawn from various backgrounds, will engage with attendees to share their expertise and experiences, enhancing the overall experience of the event.

SPEAK OGA, one of the most engaging platforms at the event, will continue to provide valuable insights through free-to-attend sessions. This year’s programme places a strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), with initiatives led by Malaysian Women in Energy (MyWiE), TalentCorp, and Project Girls4Girls (G4G). MyWiE, in collaboration with G4G, will host a panel discussion titled “Beyond the Energy Bubble: Inclusive Leadership Across Industries,” while TalentCorp will organize a three-day mentorship programme aimed at empowering young women.

To support the development of young talent, OGA and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) are co-organizing a Paper Competition. This initiative provides students with the opportunity to present their research to industry representatives, strengthening the link between academia and industry.

OGA is part of the Informa Markets Energy Series, which includes ENERtec Asia in Kuala Lumpur, International Energy Week (IEW) in Sarawak, and East Coast Energy (ECE) in Terengganu. The series aims to shape a sustainable energy future by bringing together key players across the industry.

According to Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat, Chairman of Informa Markets Malaysia, the event’s success is a testament to the industry’s eagerness to embrace transformation. “OGA can only grow in importance to bring together the solutions and ideas that will help shape tomorrow,” he said.
