More than 100 students from SK Ladang Pendas, Johor Baru, were provided with crucial educational materials such as fresh uniforms and footwear as part of the Sunway Group’s Sinar Raya festivities.
Gerard Soosay, who leads Sunway City Iskandar Puteri as CEO, mentioned that this initiative forms part of the organization’s continuous commitment towards corporate social responsibility (CSR), aiming to support underprivileged groups across the country.
“Through the provision of bubur lambuk, boxed meals, vital grocery items, and food hampers, Sunway’s CSR initiative has benefited more than 17,000 individuals throughout Malaysia this year,” he stated.
Present as well were Deputy Director of the Johor Baru Education Department School Management Unit Suliman Kamsor, along with volunteers from Sunway.
In line with its objective for digital education, Sunway also donated 22 laptops to bolster the school’s ICT literacy program.
This is a partnership involving Sunway University and the Pertubuhan Titian Digital Malaysia.
We aim to provide students with crucial digital competencies including coding, graphic design, and robotics.
Gerard stated, “Through our support for education, digital accessibility, and community requirements, we strive to build a more inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.” He further mentioned that #SunwayforGood has beneficially affected the lives of more than five hundred thousand recipients.
A 75-inch smart television along with a completely equipped ICT laboratory were supplied thanks to the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation’s assistance.
