Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been talking a lotabout Avengers: Doomsdayas of recently, largely because of the surge of teasers that have appeared online. Among those featured in the footage is Chris Evans’Steve Rogers, who was the star of the first of the four clipsso far. There has been a lot of discussion among fans regarding Steve’s return to the MCU, and there is still much unknown. Now, directors Joe and Anthony Russo are hinting at the extent of Rogers’ involvement, and one issue I have been concerned about is becoming more apparent.

What Was Mentioned Regarding the Scale of Steve Rogers’ Part?

It’s no secret that Doomsday has an extensive castand will feature a large number of characters to develop. Thus, it’s difficult not to question which ones the Russo brothers will focus on in this film, which is intended to be one part of the conclusion of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. The Russos, of course, are not inclined to reveal details about their plans for the upcoming superhero film. During an interview with Empire Magazine, one of the siblings shared (viaComicBook) their emotions regarding Steve’s part:

His pivotal part in the Avengers and the broader story of what the MCU has represented; something deeply personal to us. We cannot comprehend this storyline without his key position within it.

The word ‘Central’ seems to be the main point here, and although the comments are short, they convey a lot. These opinions appear to indicate that Steve won’t just be appearing in a few scenes. So, those who are looking forward to seeing plenty of Steve may have much to be excited about. I have been a fan of the hero for a long time.(and highly quotable) Rogers, and I’m wondering what role he will have in this nextAvengersfilm. However, with his return, I’ve also been worried about another character’s role in the story.

As Steve Makes His Comeback, I’ve Been Reflecting on Another Apocalyptic Figure

Currently, the MCU features a new Captain America, whose name is Sam Wilson. Anthony Mackie’s hero, who uses a wing pack, is scheduled to make a comeback inDoomsdaythough, with Steve back in the scene, I’ve beenworried that Wilson might be overlookedIn this most recent collaboration film, it’s true that we haven’t received official confirmation that Steve will once again wear his red, white, and blue costume, although it was visible in his teaser. Therefore, it’s difficult not to question what this signifies for Sam.

Given the Russos’ focus on Rogers as a “central” component withinDoomsday, I can’t stop feeling more worried about Sam possibly being pushed to the side. It would be disappointing if Wilson didn’t get the recognition he deserves because his predecessor is back in the picture. To be honest, one of the last scenes I hope to see in this movie is a conversation between Sam and Steve that ends with Sam passing his shield to Steve.

I suppose I might be jumping the gun with all of this. The Russos, after all, are adept at managing characters and ensuring they receive appropriate treatment. Therefore, it’s possible that these two Caps will maintain a balanced dynamic throughout the movie. Until I witness that, however, I’ll continue to have my concerns.
