Looking for something to stream this week? Determining where to watch content has become increasingly complicated with streaming services merging, licensing their original shows to rivals, and occasionally releasing films in theaters before moving them online. Don’t worry, if you want to bypass the hassle and jump straight into some standout streaming options, we’ve selected three.essential films you can stream on Netflix this weekend.

This is a significant weekend on Netflix, featuring a new top-tier thriller, an inside look at one of the most beloved TV series ever, and a major award favorite that continues to shine. Here’s what you should be aware of.

“The Rip” (2026)

The big new film release of the week, “The Rip,” is definitely worth watching. The newest collaboration between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, this crime thriller features the two as Miami police officers whose standard asset seizure takes a dramatic turn when they uncover $20 million in cartel funds. Directed by Joe Carnahan, the filmmaker behind “Boss Level” and “The Grey,””The Rip” is a compact, nostalgic thriller (with a strong ’90s vibe) that keeps you guessing, and Damon and Affleck remain as dependable a pair of movie stars as ever.

“KPop Demon Hunters” (2025)

Netflix’s 2025 unexpected hit “KPop Demon Hunters” is making a strong push during awards season, following victories at the Critics Choice and Golden Globe ceremonies for best animated feature and best original song, along with numerous regional critic accolades. It appears poised to be a contender at the Oscars, so if you haven’t had “Golden” or “How It’s Done” stuck in your head for the past year, now is finally the time. Fortunately, “KPop Demon Hunters” offers more than just an array ofearworm songs; it’s also a lively, appealing action-comedy centered around a group of KPop performers who… well, battle demons. Energetic, visually striking animation and memorable songs make this a success, along with a team of three heroes (and a charming, sorrowful villain) that you can’t help but support.

One Final Journey: The Creation of Stranger Things 5

I’m somewhat surprised that Netflix released this behind-the-scenes documentary about the creation of”Stranger Things'” final season, given the somewhat erratic response to the series’ conclusion. It’s certainly more straightforward than you might anticipate, and some of the disclosures — from a whiteboard that suggestsan alternative version of the conclusiondue to the fact that the series’ final episode was not written until late in the production process — has generated significant reaction among fans. However, if you enjoy television and are curious about the behind-the-scenes process, it’s an incredibly engaging show that provides a look at everything from stunts to table readings to discussions in the writers’ room.
