One of President Donald Trump’s “special envoys” from Hollywood has come forward with a strategy to encourage more film productions to return to the United States, at least according to his claims.

Following a stretch of quiet regarding his position as an intermediary between Hollywood and the White House, Jon Voight disclosed his plans on Monday aimed at addressing the issue of runaway production—where film and TV projects move overseas seeking lower costs.

According to a press statement issued by a spokesperson representing Voight and his collaborator Steven Paul, this strategy encompasses a mix of federal tax benefits, modifications to the tax code, co-production agreements, and infrastructure grants.

The announcement gave scant attention to tariffs, which Trump mentioned in a Sunday social media post stating they would be imposed on products not manufactured within the U.S. The document noted that Voight’s strategy includes “implementing tariffs under specific restricted conditions.”

“President adores both the entertainment industry and our nation, and he will assist us in restoring greatness to Hollywood once more,” stated Voight.

The actor added, “We are excited about collaborating with the administration, labor unions, studios, and streaming platforms to develop a strategy that ensures the well-being of our sector and encourages more projects to return to America.”

Voight and Paul have verified that they had a meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago during the weekend, and the White House is currently reviewing the suggestions presented.

More to come.
