A beauty specialist has presented his idea about a Hollywood actressEmma Stonehas undergone a ‘highly successful’ cosmetic enhancement.
The 36-year-old performer generated discussion among fans after appearing at theLos AngelesThe debut of her new movie Eddington took place last month.
Images from the event, held on June 26, depicted the Academy Award-winning actress appearing somewhat different from her usual look, with numerous comments suggesting that her upper face seemed ‘more taut’.
Although this could be attributed to her skincare regimen and smart makeup, among those who believe the celebrity has had some sort of enhancement is Dr Jonny Betteridge.
A London-based cosmetic physician and the owner of JB Aesthetics clinic is said to have undergone surgery on her upper eyelids and a facelift.
In a video posted on TikTok, which has already received over 61,400 views, he questions: ‘Did you observe Emma Stone appearing somewhat different?’
At 36, during the recent Eddington film premiere, her facial features appeared significantly more pronounced and as if she had undergone a facelift.
Her eyebrows are positioned higher, particularly the outer ends, the eyelids are more noticeable, and her eyes take on an almond-shaped appearance.
From her appearance four years ago, these changes may align with an upper blepharoplasty along with an endoscopic temporal brow lift and mid face lift.
The physician stated: “They lift and firm the middle to upper part of the face, such as the cheeks, temples, and eyebrows, through small cuts and a miniature camera known as an endoscope.”
Blepharoplasty is a medical operation that involves the removal of extra skin from the eyelids, aiming to decrease the sagging caused by the eyebrows or to eliminate fat pockets and tighten the ‘bags’ beneath the eyes.
During an upper blepharoplasty, which Dr. Betteridge believes Ms. Stone has undergone, additional skin is removed from the eyelids to create a more prominent and alert appearance.
To achieve more striking outcomes, it is frequently combined with a brow lift, involving small cuts in the hairline and lifting the muscles of the upper face, which helps minimize facial sagging caused by aging.
He mentioned that these are “minimally invasive treatments” that are “usually performed on individuals in their 30s and 40s who exhibit mild to moderate indications of facial aging.”
Another procedure that Dr Betteridge claims Ms Stone has had is a mid-facelift.
He mentioned: ‘The cuts are carefully concealed within the hairline, the temple region, or inside the mouth, which aids in minimizing noticeable scars.’
He mentioned that her appearance on the red carpet “closely mirrors” cases documented in a 2024 study published in the journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
“These patients exhibit comparable anatomical changes, including raised eyebrows and mid-face, along with an almond-shaped look to their eyes. And these are typical outcomes of an endoscopic facelift,” he mentioned.
However, he mentioned: ‘Regardless of what has been done, it seems to be refined, sophisticated, and exceptionally well carried out.’
In the United Kingdom, the price for an upper blepharoplasty varies from £2,000 to £6,000, while a mid face lift typically costs between £6,000 and £12,000.
Following the upload of the video, more than a hundred social media users expressed their opinions on the Hollywood actress’s transformed look.
In the comments, a user mentioned: ‘Love this style on her’.
Another remarked: “She appears truly stunning; anyone who claims otherwise is envious.”
A third person stated: ‘I believe she appears stunning both back then and today’.
Nevertheless, some remained unconvinced, implying that other factors might be responsible for her new appearance.
A user remarked: ‘Am I the only one who believes this is entirely due to eyebrow shape and cosmetics?’
Although the aesthetic doctor has suggested that the Hollywood actress underwent a cosmetic treatment, she has not verified whether this is accurate.
Another way to achieve facial tightening is through professional facials offered by dermatologists, which incorporate radio frequency technology, LED light therapy, and ultrasound treatments to enhance collagen production, improve skin tone, and restore a more youthful appearance.
A raised eye look can also be achieved through the use of cosmetic stickers placed in the eyelid crease, or concealed within the hairline to give the skin a more taut appearance.
Ms. Stone has never mentioned any sort of cosmetic enhancement, but she is dedicated to proper skin care.
She previously told Cosmopolitanthat her skin is very dry and delicate, making her extremely selective about the products she chooses.
“I have severe allergies to many things, so I can only use products that contain one ingredient,” she said.
I use a cleanser and occasionally exfoliate using baking soda or brown sugar. I enjoy trying new things. I really like coconut oil and olive oil—I keep a large bottle of it on my sink and apply it all over my face, making me smell like focaccia…and it’s attractive.
She further mentioned that she enjoys eye makeup, which, when done properly, can significantly alter the look of the upper face, often in a remarkable way.
Ms. Stone added, “I’ve developed the skill of filling in my eyebrows—I use an eyeshadow along with a small brush for that, which I find enjoyable…I apply mascara most days, but I do wear some makeup every day since it makes me feel more put together. However, mascara is crucial.”
It’s entirely possible that Ms. Stone hasn’t undergone surgery and has simply spent some time in the makeup chair.
For the Oscars event last year, Ms Stone’s makeup team disclosed that theyspent $2,000 on hair and beauty itemsto craft her otherworldly, mermaid-inspired appearance.
