Ryan Lochte Joins Girlfriend and Her 3 Kids in New Blended Family Seven Months After Ex’s Divorce Announcement

Ryan Lochte, the 12-time Olympic medalist, has taken a significant step in his personal life by moving in with his girlfriend, Molly Gillihan. This development marks a new chapter for the swimmer, who shares three children with his ex-wife, Kayla Reid Lochte.

A New Chapter

Lochte, 41, shared the news on Instagram, where he posted photos of himself and Gillihan in their new home. The couple, who have built a “blended” family, now include six children between them. In the post, Lochte captioned the images with “Home sweet home,” showing the pair wearing matching sweatsuits and posing on the floor of their living room.

The move comes four months after Kayla Reid Lochte made allegations in court documents that Ryan used drugs in front of their children. These claims were part of her efforts to gain full custody of their three children, Caiden, 8, Liv, 6, and Georgia, 2.

Focus on Family

Lochte emphasized that his focus over the past 10 months has been on his children and becoming the best father he can be. He mentioned undergoing rehab, rededicating his life to Christ, attending therapy, and making changes that put his children first.

“I’ve done the work — going to rehab, rededicating my life to Christ, going to therapy and making changes that put my children first,” Lochte said. “Because of that growth, I’m grateful to now have my kids 50% of the time.”

Kayla filed for divorce last March and made the news public on June 4 through an Instagram post. She described the decision as one of the most painful and challenging seasons of her life, emphasizing that she wanted to share it from a place of healing rather than from open wounds.

Legal Proceedings

In court documents obtained in September, Kayla alleged that Ryan had used drugs in front of their young children prior to their divorce. She argued that shared parental responsibility would be detrimental to the children due to Ryan’s history of substance abuse.

In response to these claims, Ryan refuted the allegations, stating, “I am not denying that I used drugs in my home, but I adamantly deny ever using drugs in front of or around my children, and I have never driven them while intoxicated.” He added that at times, he would rest in his truck instead of going inside because the home environment had become overwhelming and toxic.

Their divorce proceedings are still ongoing, and the legal battle continues to unfold.

Building a Blended Family

Now, four months later, Lochte is ready to take the next step in his new relationship. He described meeting someone who shares his values and has three children of her own, forming a family of six kids.

“We needed a bigger home to support our blended family, and we’re focused on creating a loving, stable environment for all of our children,” he said.
