Liu, 28, was among the numerous emerging talents in the cast ofBottoms, a crude, unconventional comedy released in 2023. The underground hit also featuredRuby Cruz, Kaia Gerber and Nicholas Galitzine— and for Liu, seeing all of their stars ascend has been nothing short of “so awesome.”
From Edebiri’s acclaimed performance inThe Bear to Sennott’s hit series I Love LA, the BottomsThe cast has been rising steadily — and Liu expressed her appreciation for her co-stars’ achievements at the December 2nd premiere of her new holiday film.Oh. What. Fun.
“I love them all so much, and it’s really amazing to truly believe in someone and then see just how true that is, and have everyone else recognize how beautiful and incredible they are,” the actress said to Live Streaming Movie Film Online.Bottoms costars.
They’re the most talented group ever, and I felt we had the chance to collaborate at a unique moment, almost before they all became major stars,” Liu added. “And I just really enjoy watching them excel.

Since Sennott, 30, appeared inBottoms, which she also co-wrote with director Emma Seligman, she has made a comeback on the big screen inSaturday Nightand developed and performed in HBO comedyI Love LA, among other projects.
Meanwhile, Galitzine, 31, continued to appear inThe Idea of You— from Oh. What. Fun.director Michael Showalter — across fromAnne Hathaway, and will be performing as He-Man in the new release Masters of the Universe movie.
Edebiri, 30, became famous for portraying Sydney in The Bear, with her performance as the character earning her an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award. SinceBottoms, she has made a comeback to the silver screen inOpus, Luca Guadagnino’s After The Hunt and Ella McCay, and made a name for herself as a voice actor in projects such asBig Mouth and Inside Out 2.
Cruz, 25, and Gerber, 24, have also remained active, recently appearing inThe Threesome and Palm Royale season 2, respectively.
After her role as Isabel — who becomes hilariously involved in a love triangle with Edebiri and Galitzine’s characters — Liu has appeared in multiple projects, including aLucy Dacus music video and Martin Scorsese-directed Chanel ad opposite Timothée Chalamet.
In 2025, she starred in a suspense filmLurker, as well as Oh. What. Fun., a holiday film featuringMichelle Pfeiffer. In the holiday comedy, Liu portrays the daughter of Pfeiffer’s on-screen adversary (Joan Chen) and romantic interest toDominic Sessa.
When asked who she was most excited to collaborate with in the film, she said to Live Streaming Movie Film Online, “You can’t pick. This cast is wild.”
“It’s incredibly stacked and everyone is extremely talented, highly skilled, and experienced in their respective fields, and I felt like I was learning a lot from everyone,” Liu said, noting that even fellow Hollywood newcomer Sessa — who was nominated for a BAFTA for his 2023 role inThe Holdovers — “possesses a certain wisdom and the manner in which he operates.”
He was my primary scene partner, so I have additional praise for him,” said Liu. “But everyone was outstanding. And Joan’s really tough. Everyone was fantastic.
