Johnny Knoxville Shares Stunts He Can’t Do Anymore Ahead of “Jackass 5”

A 54-year-old adventurer acknowledges that he now has his boundaries, 25 years after his popular MTV series first aired.

Don’t expect Jackassstar Johnny Knoxville to perform the same tricks he once did.

The bold television personality, who introduced his iconic MTV series in 2000 and later created several films under his label, acknowledges that he too has reached his boundaries today.

“I’m unable to do anything that could result in another concussion,” he said in a new interview withSyndicate X LibraryThis week, when asked if he is permitted to perform stunts anymore, he added that he’s “way beyond my limit for concussions.”

I don’t care about anything else,” said Knoxville, who is now 54, offering a comforting statement to his most devoted followers. “I simply can’t take another blow to the head.

Knoxville’s remarks follow an injury he sustained shooting 2022’s Jackass Forever. As he was riding a bull, he was thrown into the air and landed on his head, resulting in a brain hemorrhage and concussion, as well as a broken wrist and rib.

“I can picture how frightened my children were,” Knoxville said about the incident on theInside of You podcast in 2024, stating that he informed them, “Look, Dad isn’t going to do that anymore.”

Over the years, Knoxville has alsosustained an orbital blowout fracture, a torn tendon, andurethraa bulging disc, along with multiple fractured bones. He believes he has experienced between 50 and 100 concussions.

Knoxville’s Jackass The series debuted on MTV in 2000 and evolved into a large franchise. The original program ran for three seasons, ending in 2002, which led to several movies, starting withJackass: The Movie. The 2002 film was followed by several others, including a 2013 sequel,Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, where the reality TV personality dressed as a mischievous elderly person to elicit responses from unsuspecting people. The comedian has also appeared in films such as 2005’sThe Dukes of Hazzard and The Ringer.

Talking about his reckless behavior, Knoxville saidVanity Fairin July 2023, he stated that he had been refused medical coverage at least one time. “At the end of theJackassTelevision show, I believe, we lost all our insurance,” he stated. “So that wasn’t good. I think we were unable to get coverage at that point.”

But he has stayed determined, declaringealier this month that Jackass continues in the fifth major cinematic release of the series.

Further details for Jackass 5are concealed, but it will feature original content and previously unseen historical footage. Its contentious leading actorBam Margerawill have a brief appearance after he and Paramount Pictures reached an agreement for him to be featured in footage from earlier timesJackassprojects. He is not scheduled to shoot any additional footage for the film.
