Later this year, Brown will return as Enola Holmes, the fearless young detective in the third film of Netflix’s ongoing series. The streaming service recently revealed a preview of its upcoming slate of movies and shows slated for 2026, including details about when fans can expect to see Brown in sleuth mode once again in Enola Holmes 3.
The highly anticipated sequel is set to premiere on Netflix in the summer of 2026. Although the exact release month hasn’t been announced, the summer window is the most significant update we’ve received so far. Enola Holmes 3 is set to return to the case in the summer of 2026 on Netflix. In the first-look image, Millie Bobby Brown appears stunned as her character, Enola, looks at a handmade engagement ring created by Tewkesbury (played by Louis Partridge) with a flower while he’s down on one knee. It seems that Enola wasn’t expecting this moment, but she doesn’t look like she’s in shock — more like she’s taken aback in a positive way.
The synopsis for Enola Holmes 3, shared by Netflix, hints at new developments in Enola’s personal life as her dreams for her career as a detective clash with her private affairs during her latest case in Malta. While the specifics of what brings Enola to Malta or the nature of her new case remain undisclosed, Netflix has already teased the following:
"Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before."
In addition to Brown and Partridge reprising their roles, Enola Holmes 3 also features Henry Cavill, Himesh Patel, Helena Bonham-Carter, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. The film is written by Jack Thorne, who also wrote the previous two installments, though it is directed by Philip Barantini, the Emmy Award-winning director of Adolescence, replacing Harry Bradbeer.
It’s been a long wait for Enola Holmes 3, but not as long as the wait for Stranger Things 5. The previous film was released on Netflix in November 2022. A new movie wasn’t confirmed until November 2024, and production began in April 2025, wrapping up by late June. Fortunately, the wait is almost over!
