Today’s Connections answers
So, what are the current Connections answers for game #953?
Drumroll, please…
- 🟨 Inexperienced: Budding, Fresh, Naive, New
- 🟩 🤑: Bundle, Fortune, Mint, Wad
- 🟦 Measured by SI units: Current, Length, Mass, Time
- 🟪 Words after “quick”: Fix, Study, Silver, Sand
I moved around today’s puzzle, beginning by gathering some fast money for green using Bundle, Fortune, Mint, and Wad.
I felt foolish about how long it took me to reach yellow. Fresh, Naive, and New all appeared like safe choices, but Budding is the type of word that doesn’t come up often unless it’s a direct reference from “SpongeBob.” My assumptions ended up being incorrect…this time.
I can’t recall which obscure, dusty memory vault I accessed to come up with the answer for blue today, but all that time spent in science class studying measurements finally came in handy because something told me Current, Length, Mass, and Time belonged together. Just reading the SI units sent me reeling back to my 7th grade science teacher, who unfortunately was named Miss Dees.
That left Fix, Sand, Silver, and Study to handle today’s routine assignment for purple.
Yesterday’s Connections answers
- 🟨 Features of a duck: Bill, Feathers, Webbing, Wings
- 🟩 Destroy: Break, Damage, Total, Wreck
- 🟦 Found on a book jacket: Author, Quote, Synopsis, Title
- 🟪 Classic Hollywood actors: Cooper, Grant, Peck, Price
Reading this from a later time zone? Here are the Connections answers for game #952, which hada difficulty ratingout of 5.0
First, I attempted to connect Damage, Total, Bill, and Price, assuming they were all methods of requesting the check. After realizing that path was unproductive, I moved to the shallow part of the pond with Bill, Feathers, Webbing, and Wings for yellow today.
Then emerged blue, featuring a group of categories that have been seen countless times across countless books: Author, Quote, Synopsis, and Title.
From that point, I selected green with Break, Damage, Total, and Wreck, eventually locating a spot for two of the hints that initially drew my attention.
That left purple as today’s standard choice with Cooper, Grant, Peck, and Price.
Tips for Connections — how to succeed at Connections
There are two methods for playing Connections: either obtain the answers as you work through the puzzles or focus on solving the most challenging group, which is purple.
Regardless of your approach, the top advice I can offer is to not hesitate to use the shuffle feature, particularly if you’ve completed a set but are sure it doesn’t belong to the Purple group. You can keep shuffling the grid until your solved quartet is in a more isolated section.
For the purple group, you can anticipate encountering a few category types: words missing a letter, homophones, words with particular suffixes or prefixes, and [blank] word (or word [blank]). There are additional ones, but this covers most of what you’ll encounter. It can be helpful to search for purple connections through one of these perspectives.
If you aren’t specifically searching for purple, the best suggestion I can offer is to focus on smaller links. For instance, Riddler and Joker are both villains of Batman. After grouping this pair together, it becomes simpler to identify another group.
In conclusion, be cautious of pitfalls. Sometimes, the Connections creators include a group of words that appear very straightforward to most individuals. However, selecting them might result in a strike, which you should reserve for situations where you are genuinely uncertain about a few clues.
The challenging part is that occasionally the most apparent group of four is indeed one of the correct options (often found in the yellow or green levels).
An alternative approach is to identify the four hints you believe form a clear group. Emphasize them by clicking on the words without pressing submit. Then, examine the grid again to see if anything else catches your attention.
Frequently, these highly apparent sets are actually distributed separately among the four groups. So, if you notice Wick, Neo, Ted, and Mnemonic, you might instantly associate them with Keanu Reeves films, but that’s a deception. Rather, use each word as a starting point to uncover different relationships.
